How can I create a group task, add users to that group, and assign a case to that group after creating it?

You can add your group in the BPM Human Task. Additionally, create the same group in Alpha Admin as defined in the BPM Human Task. Please ensure that you are a member of that group. Once the case is created, it will be assigned to that specific group.

Please go through the jBPM tutorials available on YouTube, as well as the official documentation for better understanding.
In the Human Task properties, you will find options such as Group or Actor. You can create a new group there. The same group must also be created in the alpha Admin Groups section.
Ensure that you are added to this group. Once this is configured, after creating a case, it should be visible under the group tasks. From there (or via Admin), the task can be assigned either to yourself or to other users within the same group.
