Building the Future of Claims Processing with Neutrinos, Alpha, AIHub, SSD & Reels

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on an exciting Proof of Concept that reimagines how claims can be handled — blending automation, AI, and multi-channel submission into one seamless experience.

The solution I built leverages:
Neutrinos Platform | SSD | Alpha | AIHub | Reels | DMS | JBPM


:light_bulb: The Vision

Claims shouldn’t be bottlenecked by manual processes or fragmented channels.
So, I created a two-way claim submission flow — one via a FNOL (First Notice of Loss) portal and the other via email submission.
Both routes lead to the same backend, ensuring a unified and automated experience.


:open_mailbox_with_raised_flag: Claim Submission Channels

:one: FNOL Portal – A clean, guided form for users to submit claims directly.
:two: Email Submission – Users simply send their claim documents via email.

Behind the scenes, a cron job in SSD checks every 10 seconds (via SMTP & IMAP) for new claim-related emails.


:counterclockwise_arrows_button: The Intelligent Workflow

Whether a claim comes from the FNOL portal or email, the process is identical:

  1. Data Collection
  • Backend built on SSD ingests the claim details & documents.
  • Documents are stored securely via DMS.
  1. AI-Powered Document Processing
  • AIHub APIs extract structured data from the documents.
  • Reels API assists in classification and advanced validations.
  • AIHub Adjudication API performs automated rule checks.
  1. Smart Email Responses
  • If documents are missing, the system automatically emails the claimant:
    • Scenario 1: No documents → Request for all required documents.
    • Scenario 2: Only one document → Request for the missing one.
    • Scenario 3: Incorrect document → Notify and request the correct one.
  1. Data Structuring & Case Creation
  • All extracted data is rearranged and enriched into a perfect case structure.
  • A Case API is triggered to create and manage the claim in JBPM.
  1. Workbench Integration (Alpha)
  • A custom Workbench UI in Alpha displays:
    • Claim details
    • Extracted data
    • AI summaries
    • Decision-making tools

This POC proves that multi-channel claims intake combined with AI-driven adjudication can drastically reduce processing time while improving accuracy and customer experience.
